STITCH OF THE MONTH: GRANNY SHELL

March's Stitch of the Month is the Granny Shell!

This is often used to make squares but has been adapted to work in rows to create a beautiful third panel for the blanket. The colours chosen were a nod to St Patrick's Day but , as ever, you can use whichever colours you like!

Pattern Notes

  • This pattern uses US terminology when referring to stitches

  • This pattern is for a panel with a border of 49sts x 76 sts

  • The colour for this pattern changes on every even numbered row.

    • Option 1: Fasten off at the end of each odd numbered row and weave your tails in

    • Option 2: Change colour on the last stitch of every odd numbered row and carry the yarn up the edge of the wo

  • Stacked single crochets count as one stitch

    • For example, if you stack one sc on top of another, the entire stack is the first stitch and counts as a dc

  • Always mark your first stitch
